Preferred Art Store: Jerry’s Artarama, Blicks

Canvas (at least double primed) artist quality- (Could be a roll, board or stretched canvas. Paramount artist quality from jerry's is a decent choice for new students.)

Brushes
Soft natural hair brushes, Flats & Filberts (like Golden Maple Flat and Filbert Sets available on Amazon.)
Hog Bristle brushes: Flat # 4 and 6, Filbert # 4 and 6 (Creative Mark, Pro Stroke premium White Bristle from Jerry’s is a good choice for new students.)
One small soft blender brush (goat hair or any soft brush)
Some round detail brushes, synthetic or natural

Other Materials
Linseed oil or Walnut Oil (only from art store, not grocery store)

Gamsol (or any other Odorless mineral spirit from any art store)
Paper towel
Q tips
Grey palette
Palette knives
Brush cleaner (like Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner and Restorer or Murphy's Oil Soap)

Fixative
Floor easel preferred but can also use table top easel

Paints:

Any artist quality preferred

(Winton, Gamblin 1980, Lukas studio are Not artist quality. Winsor& Newton artist's oil color, Gamblin Artist's Oil color, Lukas 1862 are.)

Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna
Cadmium Yellow or Cadmium Yellow Medium
Cadmium Red Medium or Light

Alizarin Crimson Permanent or Rose Madder
Transparent Oxide Red or Burnt Sienna (transparent preferred)
Transparent Oxide brown or Burnt Umber (transparent preferred)
Ultramarine Blue
